case-study

Jaipur and Sanganer in Rajasthan

This program focused on enhancing Anganwadi workers' knowledge of Early Childhood Care and Education, including an enhanced knowledge of teaching strategies and optimized use of recycled resources to engage children in Literacy & Numeracy. The program modules also focused on developing knowledge about the use of play-based methods to teach foundational concepts

Participants showed a 20% improvement in post-Program assessments. Notably, the lowest pre-assessment score, for “Domains of Development & Learning,” showed marked improvement, indicating that an in-depth training on the fundamentals of ECCE can be helpful to bridge knowledge gaps.

In week 1, pre-assessments showed weak reading and comprehension skills. By week 2, 80% students answered reading questions correctly, and 76% of them answered comprehension questions correctly.
Our final assessment showed 300% improvement in word reading, and 125% improvement in sentence reading.

Akanksha Foundation

Our intervention with this non-profit organisation, with SKG and Grade 1 children from low-income communities. Students were introduced to multiple Square Panda India programs, for 15 minutes a day, 5 days a week. The students improved across skills, right from month 1.
We conducted assessments each month, while exploring different teaching-learning methods. By the end of the study, children had become more confident and interested in learning, with weaker students showing progress of 44%. There was considerable improvement in literacy outcomes & students could independently use tablets leading to digital literacy in students.

BMC Schools

This pilot had children from BMC schools use only our application, without any external intervention. Grade 2 students spent 15 minutes a day with our early literacy program, 4-5 times a week.
In the beginning, we saw that reading and comprehension were the weakest skills, similar to what we observed in Chhattisgarh. Our final assessment showed an overall improvement of 75% in reading skills, and our interactive, digital game-based learning system piqued learners curiosity.
